Gradient Recalled Echo
Gradient Echo
Field Echo
Technique:
An initial RF pulse with a certain flip angle is performed in the presence of a slice select gradient. One application of a phase-encode gradient is performed followed by readout of the gradient echo in the presence of a frequency-encoding (readout) gradient.
Typical Paramaters:
For T2* weighting:
TR > 2000-3000 msec
TE > 15 msec
flip angle: variable
