3D MP-RAGE

Expansion:

Three Dimensional Magnetization Prepared Rapid Acquisition GRE (3D Inversion Recovery)

Technique:

In distinction to a 3D GRE sequence, and similar to a 2D IR sequence, an initial 180 degree inversion pulse is applied, followed by a GRE imaging sequence (steady state using rewinder gradients). In order to produce 3D images, a secondary phase encoding occurs in the slice select direction

Typical Paramaters:

TI: 700 msec

flip angle: 30 degrees

tr: time between excitations - 12 msec
